Melted Crayon Art Practice

I had all kinds of left over craft gems from my Zelda treasure chest project, so I decided to make melted crayon art and stick the gems into the wax. Before I started that big project, I had a couple of test runs. Here they are:

I melted my crayons on black poster board using a hair dryer. These tests made me realize that the poster board was not thick enough (it became curved and prone to cracking once the wax melted). So for my final project, I glued cardboard onto the back which fixed the problem.

More crayon art coming soon!

Melted Crayon Art: Batman Symbol

I decided to get in on the melted crayon art craze that is sweeping the internet. I made this batman symbol by holding a crayon over a candle and dripping it onto the paper. The background is watercolor.

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Boss Key Chest

A treasure chest that I made as a Christmas present for my boyfriend, complete with sound! It is a replica of the boss key chests found in the video game The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time.

Coming soon: A step-by-step guide of how to make this chest.

Elephant Heart Painting

A painting I made with my sister based off an image found on google. Acrylic on canvas 12″x14″.

It was difficult to capture the colors of the background right so here is another picture of it using different lighting.
